Please don't tell me I'm a bad mother.

Don't have too many pupils this year, but when I hired the nanny I had to offer a certain amount of hours (couldn't say wait and see how I work and only then I'll know..). So some days I pay for a nanny while I'm actually home.
Today is such a day where I have an hour and a half just for myself. So instead of going to my place and saying hello to my girl, I went to my mum's place and made myself something to eat (I ususally hardly have time to eat), read some blogs (almost finished August! [Should also get updated on the forums..]) and (going to) pump. Oh, and rest would be nice but, but well that won't happen today.. While all these are important and great that I have (paid) time for such, kind of feels bad I don't go to say hello to my daughter. I don't want her to see me and to get confused and want to be with me etc, I also don't want nanny to start chatting with me on my free time (thus not letting me do any of the above).
O.K, the clock's ticking. Have an hour. Back to my meal..

You are definitely NOT a bad Mom! It's important you're getting a break so you can recharge & continue to be a great Mom! I also think you're right not to stop in on your Girl since she'd just want to be with you & it's be harder on her.

Enjoy your break!

Exactly what Tiara said...not a bad mother at all. I'm a bit jealous, actually...I do enjoy my "baby-free" time when I'm at school, teaching my students, but I don't have much "me" time outside of that. Good for you!! Enjoy!

Oh, no! You are not a bad mother AT ALL! I have taken Sunshine to daycare, then called in sick to work and went home and gone to sleep. Babies are wonderful and exhausting! Breaks are necessary.

I absolutely agree with everyone else...you're not a bad mother, you're human. The only way to really be the best mom you can be is to take care of yourself too, and that includes guilt free time alone doing whatever you want.

Just chiming in to say I agree with everyone else! You're just being smart, knowing you need the time to yourself, and taking the opportunity when you can.

I think taking time for yourself actually makes you a good mom!

Agree with everyone! I know everything I read or watch they say that moms need to take care of themselves or they will be no good to anyone else. Most moms just have a hard time doing that, but it's necessary. Plus in addition to being a mom you are a you too ;)
Hope you enjoyed your meal!

On the contrary, you are a very good mother. Time on your own will make you refreshed and ready to be the best mother you can be! Enjoy!

Moms NEED a break in order to be good moms. You can't spend your energy on others if there is no energy there to start with. Taking time to recharge is crucial!

You are not a bad mother. You are a single mother and don't have a significant other to give you a break from time to time. Everyone needs a break sometimes.
